← Keeper's Cabinet
Built by a Reseller

I didn't set out to build software. I was just trying to make listing a little easier.

Keeper's Cabinet definitely didn't start with a business plan.

Honestly, I wasn't even trying to build something this big.

I had my own little resale shop, plenty of inventory waiting for me, and not nearly enough listings getting finished. I just wanted something that could help me take all the information I already had about an item and turn it into a listing without starting from scratch every single time.

That was it. It wasn't even something I was going to share with anyone.

Then I started using it.

And almost immediately it became, “Well...it does this. Could it also do this next step?”

If I'm already entering what I know about an item, why not keep track of what I paid for it?

I'm already taking the pictures. Why not keep those connected to the item too?

If it's helping me build the listing, why can't it remember where I put the thing afterward?

And somewhere along the way, the little program I was building to help me get listings done started becoming something much bigger.

Every time I ran into another problem in my shop, I tried to figure out how the Cabinet could help with it.

Can't remember what I paid for that necklace? Fix that.

Took the pictures but forgot to list the thing? Fix that.

Sold something and can't remember which bin I put it in six months ago? Definitely fix that.

I also have ADHD.

Which means I have spent a ridiculous amount of my life creating systems to keep myself organized...and then forgetting to use the system I created to keep myself organized. Then remembering it six months later and trying to backfill everything I forgot to put in it.

Keeper's Cabinet is being built with that brain in mind.

I don't want software that expects me to remember what I was doing, where I stopped, which screen I was supposed to update, or what I planned to do three Tuesdays ago.

I want to open it and have it help me figure out what comes next.

That's also why I'm building Keeper's Cabinet by actually using it to run my own resale business. If something is annoying, confusing, takes too many clicks, or makes me stop and think “Wait...what am I supposed to do here?” I notice it because I'm the one trying to use it.

I'm not building software based on what I think a reseller might need.

I'm building the software I needed in the first place.
